I haven't yet seen Adam Sandler's Jack and Jill, but most likely will wait until it's released on dvd before even thinking about watching it... despite the fact my favorite actor makes a surprise cameo in the film. As much as I love Johnny Depp, and enjoy most of Adam's movies, after reading all the reviews it looks like this one was a big flop and the only cameo to warrant any laughs at all was the one by Johnny.

Generally speaking, a consensus of the definition of Saints is, "People who, by their joyful service, have extended the Love of God to others..." The celebration of "Saint Michael the ArchAngel Day" and all the Angels known throughout the world is "celebrated as Michaelmas" and ties in directly with last weeks Autumnal Equinox celebration for in olden times the great season of harvesting one's crops had to be completed by the date of the Michaelmas or the last Sunday in September so that a new cycle of planting and farming could begin. In the present day this is considered to be a fine time for clearing the slate and planting the seeds for new beginnings and fresh new journeys.

Archangel Michael whose name in ancient scripts means; "Who is like unto God..." is most often thought of as the mighty Angelic Warrior who drove the rebellious fallen Angel "Lucifer" from the kingdom of Heavenly paradise. Throughout history Michael has always been the most venerated and popular of the three Archangels mentioned in the scriptures. The other two being "Archangel Rafael" and "Archangel Gabriel". It is the "Archangel Michael" who is described as the embodyment of Love, Compassion and Divine Enlightenment in all of the recorded writings.

Throughout European countries many monasteries and churches are dedicated to the Archangel Saint Michael and are usually located in high places near the ocean. Saint Michael's feast day was celebrated with the tradition of baking special large loaves of bread made, offered up and eaten only on the "Michaelmas feastday". From the earliest centuries it had been a favorite practice in many communities to build Saint Michael shrines on the tops of mountains and hills. Archangel Michael is most commonly invoked as the protector of the innocent as well as a mediator for the dying and is the presenter of souls to God at their entrance into Heaven. Archangel Michael is therefore honored as the actual patron of all the holy Souls. In many sections of Europe and England, wine consumed on this day was called; "Saint Michael's Love" and this ancient ritual is preserved even to the present day.

Archangel Michael and all patron Saints and Angels serve to eliminate the negativity and confusion that is often referred to as "the dark night of the Soul," as they are called upon to bring the comfort of lasting Peace and eternal Love to the sincere petitioner. The raising of Spiritual Awareness and the unfolding of Divine Wisdom beckons to each human heart to Love unconditionally and aide in the relief of sorrow and suffering wherever it is found. This is the relentless call which comes unceasingly forward from within the realms of all the Angels and Saints.

I was out walking with my grandson. He picked up something off of the ground and started to put it in his mouth. I took the item away from him and I asked him not to do that.

"Why" my grandson asked.

"Because it's been on the ground; you don't know where it's been, it's dirty, and probably has germs," I replied.

At this point, my grandson looked at me with total admiration and asked, "Grandma, how do you know all this stuff?? You are so smart."

I was thinking quickly and said to him. "All grandmas know stuff. It's on the Grandma Test. You have to know it, or they don't let you be a grandma."

We walked along in silence for 2 or 3 minutes, but he was evidently pondering this new information.

"Oh....I get it! He beamed, So if you don't pass the test you have to be the grandpa."

"Exactly," I replied with a big smile on my face.

i feel anxious sad confused irrational lonely - even tho’ i live with the man i love-
i feel overwhelmed with emotion and can’t make up my mind about what to do about it

mostly, i’m worried that i’ll never be what god intended me to be - and i fight this every day

am i sad about life in general ? yes, but not every single day....sometimes i have sparks of hope -for humanity, for our world, for what we’ve become, for what we could be, for what i dream life could be....for my part in making the world a better place....
am i sad about what my life has become? yes, because i can’t even answer that truthfully, i don’t know what I’m supposed to be, and time is slipping away faster everyday...
what has my life become? i don’t even know........
i don’t know what i’m doing, or where i’m going in my life--and i feel i’m wasting what precious little time i have...

we are only here for a moment in the scheme of it all

and i get even more depressed thinking about what i should be doing instead of actually doing something about it
and getting more confused about it the longer i dwell on it
does anyone else feel this way?

are we all just wandering around in the dark -yearning for a ray of light- hoping that god will come and save us from this dismal truth? but is that really the truth? what is the truth, really?
do we even know?

i look out my window and see nothing but beauty.....
butterflies, birds, trees, sun shining, flowers ...all to his beauty and still i do not feel happy
how could that be?
i am so blessed to have this beauty around me, a place to live, food to eat, a man that loves me with all his heart....and yet, i still feel this emptiness.....
begging god to give me relief from myself

Aromatherapy can be a very helpful companion when embarking upon a long journey, or even just a short trip, and may even effectively replace some other traditional medicines for those that are looking for a natural alternative. While traveling may be a part of our work and our play, for those that suffer from travel-troubles it can be a nightmare. If you suffer from travel sickness, headaches or migraines, queasiness, fear of flying, jet lag, insect bites and sun burns, here you will find essential oil remedies to help with those maladies. I've also included a recipe for a massage blend to keep deep vein thrombosis at bay, as well.

Important Notes for Using Essential Oils; Dilutions and Usage of Essential Oils:
Always dilute essential oils, as they are very potent and too concentrated to use undiluted on the skin. To use essential oils in a massage, use the following dilutions:
For most people ages 12-65 add no more than 20 drops of your chosen essential oil(s) per ounce of carrier oils. For those aged 4-6 or those over age 65, do not use more than 10 drops per ounce of carrier, and those aged 1-4, no more than 5 drops per ounce of carrier. For pregnant women or babies, only minute quantities of essential oils should be used. For instance, only 1-4 drops of essential oils should be used per ounce of carrier. And remember that only Tea Tree, Lavender, Roman Chamomile 3%, Dill, and Mandarin (be careful of phototoxicity with citrus oils), as well as Eucalyptus Smithii (the mildest of all the Eucalyptus') are safe for children and the elderly, and are the only essential oils that should be used on pregnant women, or children under 4 years old.

It's everywhere~!

...it's like they have some algorithm coded into their blog and it just randomly spits out bits of the Internet .....

I have this one Google Mail account that struck a chord with the "randomly spitting out info from the net"... A few weeks ago I decided to try out the Google alert option and made a "Yellowstar Essentials" alert. Today I received this email:

This makes no sense, right? So, I went to the site listed above to see in what context "Yellowstar Essentials" was used, and here's a snipped of what I found, really strange...it's like someone has some algorithm coded into their blog and it just randomly spits out bits of the Internet .....this makes no sense whatsoever.... See for yourself, here's what it said:

Personalized Christmas Gift Baskets

Personalized Christmas baskets are a beautiful and inexpensive way to give a gift from the heart and still make a statement. They can be suited to the receiver depending on their tastes. Inexpensive empty baskets are readily available at dollar type stores. Even department stores like Walmart and Target are a good resource for empty baskets at reasonable prices. Nearly new baskets can be found at flea markets, yard sales, thrift shops, Good Will, Salvation Army Stores, and eBay, just make sure to rinse them in hot soapy water and let them air dry before filling, also make sure the bottoms are sturdy enough to handle the weight of what you're filling them with. Decorative items for your baskets and filling can be found at a variety of stores and even online. Here's a link for beautiful and inexpensive Christmas ornaments I found on Amazon to decorate the handles of your gift baskets, or to just add to the filling. Christmas Goody Basket:
Goody baskets are always appreciated and can be suited to the recipient. Just make a few batches of your favorite Christmas cookies ( see some recipes here ), and put them in a pretty tin (from the dollar store or Goodwill...washed out of course), throw in some gourmet coffees or teas, wrap it with a pretty bow, and you'll have a lovely homemade gift from the heart. Also you could make other treats to suit the receiver such as; sweet lovers baskets, make some different types of Cocoas-in-a-jar, Brownies-in-a-jar, Cookies-in-a-jar, or something similar, and fill in with homemade holiday candies or anything you think they'll enjoy for a sweet snack. There are tons of "in-a-jar" recipes all over the net, plus, they really look cool when the ingredients are layered. I've given these out for a few Christmases, and it seems they almost expect them now. See my blog post for some awesome recipes.

Hassle-Free Italian Dinner Basket or a "Kiss the Chef " Basket
Fill it with a couple jars of to-die-for homemade bolognese sauce ( here's my family recipe look at the bottom for the Italian Bolognese Sauce Recipe ), throw in a few packages of pasta, and a bottle of wine. This will definitely bring big smiles to their faces... (especially the one who usually does all the cooking), they will appreciate the thoughtfulness that went into making a homemade dinner. This doesn't have to be Italian night either, if you know they love Chinese , add some Chinese sauces and or some other cuisine, tailor it to suit the recipients. If you know they like to cook, make up a cool "Kiss the Chef" basket filled with the best selling new cookbooks , kitchen gadgets , and a "kiss the chef" apron .

Movie Night Basket
Put together a cute basket or bag stuffed with bargain DVDs ( or see this list of the Top 10 DVDs for Christmas 2010: What DVD's Are on Everyone's Christmas List ), and a box of microwave popcorn, throw in some Milkduds, and you'll have a great gift to give. Target has a section of DVDs for $5. During Black Friday Wal-Mart will be selling a wide selection of DVDs for only $1.96. You can get five DVDs and still spend less than $10! "Feel Better" Kit
If you've got a 'sickly soul' on your list or one who's always catching a cold, this is a perfect gift. Even if they aren't' the 'sickly' type, during the winter months so many come down with colds, flues, viruses, and other nasty ailments, it's just no fun at all. So why not put together a homemade "feel better" kit? Get a big jar and fill it with some dry chicken noodle soup (the kind where you just add hot water, I know, it's not like Mom's, but it'll sure do the trick in an emergency), some Kleenex tissues (with aloe so they're soft on that sore nose), some Vicks vapo-rub, Day-Quil / or AlkaSeltzer Cold Remedy, a cute and cuddly stuffed animal, and a cozy pair of thick socks. Throw in a "feel-good" movie from my Top 50 Feel Good Movies of All Time list and you've got a winner for those winter blues that is sure to bring some cheer.

Holiday Party Basket:
These are fun and believe me, the recipient will love it. Christmas is the perfect time to put together a New Year's Gift basket they can use bring in the new year with style. Make some homemade Baileys and/or Kahlua and put them in pretty bottles, throw in some streamers, some horns, a cd of holiday music and you're good to go. Wrap it all up in a cellophaned basket, add some New Year's decorations, and you've got yourself a great gift that won't break the bank.

Family Night Gift Basket:
If you've got a game lover on your list, put together a fun gift basket with a bunch of family games to play on a cold and blustery day. Buy a couple decks of cards, maybe a deck of UNO and some classic Bicycle cards, a few smaller games that easily fit in your basket such as miniature checkers, chess or the like, and some puzzle books (for those alone days), and a few boxes of popcorn or candy, and you have a perfect fun family night gift basket.

Fresh Fruit Basket:
Use fresh, in-season fruit and homemade preserves, jams & jellies for a beautiful fruit basket they are sure to love. If you love the idea of a Kindle but still can't afford one, the NOOK WiFi eReader goes for $ 99.99 at Best Buy on Black Friday . If you don't want to get out of bed at the butt-crack of dawn on Black Friday then check out Barnes and Noble who's now gone fully official with its new $149 Nook. The 3G version has taken a price drop to $199 as well, matching the pricing indicated by Best Buy. B&N is also outing its firmware version 1.4 , which allows the free use of AT&T wireless hotspots everywhere.

It's so funny, with all the technology we have these days, it seems, we still have a hard time getting in touch with people.

Today, I received a message from a Jenn Jordan who is working with Joan London on a "Spotlight Special" for Style Network says they're doing a piece called "The Organic Connection", and wanted to speak to me about it.

hmmm...sounds really interesting, so I immediately returned the call, only to leave a message for her. I can only imagine that she found my Yellowstar*Essentials website and wants to talk about that.
About 20 minutes later, (after getting to my phone too late again.,..((note to self..,,keep phone closer!)), I had to leave her another message and laughed..."phone tag, you're it!".

I'll keep you posted :) LOL

Ok, I'm an idiot.
At least that's what my better half told me. And my mother says I have to stop sabotaging myself.
So why would they say these things?
Well, it's a bit hard to explain, but I guess it's something I've always done....
I shy away from spotlights, stages and any kind of success, and always to my detriment.
I guess it's because I'm a big yellow chicken.

I told you I'd keep you updated on the Joan London-Style Network's "Organic Connection" talk with Jenn Jordan so I'm keeping my word.
We finally were able to connect and had a wonderful 20 minute conversation. I feel like I made a friend, but ended up turning down the offer and giving her other names of companies I thought were better suited to what they were looking for.
I'm just not a TV kind of girl...at least not in front of the camera kind of girl....
so needless to say, my family and friends think I'm crazy for turning them down.
At least I can say I was approached for something I should have had the guts to take on, but couldn't bring myself to accept.
I'm much better behind the scenes, off camera, and helping out than I am with any attention focused directly on me....
In any case, it felt good to be asked, but I'm happy in my own little bubble world.
No stress, no mess.
Thanks for the thoughts Jenn, you are a sweetheart, and I'll always remember your kind words.

Everything in life is energy, and that energy can be not only felt, but controlled and directed and focused with purpose and intention. The writing below was originally published on the Internet on May 21, 2007.
Everything in life is energy. There is nothing -- absolutely nothing -- that is not energy. Everything vibrates with this energy, and the number of vibrations, or wave patterns, within a given period of time is called the "frequency" with which the energy fluctuates. Energy is always fluctuating. Always. That is, energy never remains static. If energy were to ever remain static, everything would suddenly stand still. The physical world would simply stop, as in the freeze frame of the movie. In that moment life would end.

Life, then, could be defined as movement. When movement stops, life stops. We have nothing to worry about, however, because movement never stops. It is built into the system. It is the system. This information is more than esoteric data. It has some practical implications that may have escaped you. It has applications in day-to-day living that could change your life in remarkable ways.

For instance, ever notice how energy flows? Energy never remains at Straight Up Zero. If there was such a thing as an Energy-O-Meter, you would see that the needle is always moving. And the meter is very sensitive. Very sensitive. You would see the needle swing wildly to the left or right of Dead Center with the slightest fluctuation in the vibe.

"Dead Center" would be an apt description of the moment when the needle is pointing straight up. That would mean there is Zero Fluctuation of the energy, hence no movement, hence no life. That would, indeed, be dead center!

Now, why I am bringing this all up here: your energy in every single moment is either moving towards something or away from it. It is either attracting or repelling. It is either pulling something closer or pushing it father away.

Within the phenomenon known as Space, "moving toward" something or "pulling" something closer is the same thing. It is the experience of shortening the space between two objects (or, in fact, two experiences). The way you think about a thing attracts it or repels it. That's because you want is energy moving in one direction or the other. We call these "to and fro" energies "love" and "fear". Those are names of actual human emotions, but, in truth, they are simply our ways of describing E-motions -- that is, energy-in-motion.

Again...energy is always in motion. It's either moving toward something or away from it. It cannot do both and it cannot do neither. it is eternally doing one or the other. The swings of the meteor to the left and the right of Dead Center are necessary, and part of the normal function of life. The fluctuation must occur, and so this business of moving toward something or only from it is not a question of "good" and "bad". One thing is not "better" than the other. It is just what "is".

That is important to understand. Otherwise, we might get into our judgment about it.

The trick with regard to energy is to learn how to regulate it so that you can control the ebb and flow. You are actually controlling the ebb and flow right now, but you may not be doing it consciously. Regulating energy is about conscious creation of the ebb and flow. It is about conscious attenuation of the vibration. It is about adjusting the frequency of your energy on purpose.

Because the needle on the Energy-O-Meter is so very sensitive, the slightest, tiniest, most minute fluctuation in your personal energy causes the reading to vary massively from one moment to the next. Even from one milli-second of the next. so we have this needle of swinging wildly from left to right past zero, which is at center. The needle is never at Straight Up Zero except when it passes through Zero Point on its way left or right.

Now, with regard to any person, place, or thing in your life, ask yourself this question: On this day, am I moving towards this, or a way from it? This will help explain why your relationship with your Significant Other is going the way it is going. Are you experiencing greater closeness or greater distance? Are you experiencing an increase in the energy's intensity, or a decrease?

More important, is the next remark you were going to make, or the next thing you are going to do, likely to swing the needle to the left or to the right? Is it getting warmer or is it getting colder in the environment of your heart? What is the "temperature" of your present interaction? To what "degree" you see it changing the mood of the moment? To what extent will this shift to the left or the right of center affect the long-term balance within the system?

These are interesting things to think about just before opening our mouth to say something to another. These are fascinating things to explore just before taking some action or making some choice, be it large or small, in the day-to-day of our living. Is this action drawing me closer to, or pushing me further away from, my loved one? Are these words pulling that Special Other just a tiny bit further in, or moving that Special Other just a tiny bit further away? Which way it is this sensitive meter pointing?

Of course, it can't always be at a +10. Sometimes it's going to be at -2 or -3. You can't have "up" without "down". You can't have "left" without "right". You can't have "cold" without "warm". You have to have the fluctuation. The fluctuation is good. It is necessary. It is, as we have said, part of the process. But here's something that most people don't understand about that process: You can control it. You can regulate it. Indeed, you are doing so in every moment. It is simply a question of whether you know what you are doing.

When you know what you are doing, it is called Conscious Creation. Conscious creation is the deliberate construction of energy patterns in a particular frequency of fluctuation. To put this simply, it is the sending out of "good vibes" deliberately and intentionally. It is the activation of the choice to attract rather than rebel, to move toward rather than away, to pull in rather than push out.

Is this what you were doing with the last thing that you said to the person with whom you want to feel closer? Read the last e-mail that you sent to that person. Do you think that it is swinging the needle to the right or to the left of Point Zero?

She announced there will be TWO more books added to the Shadowhunter's second cycle of the Mortal Instruments series. We already fell in love with the first trilogy; City of Bones , City of Ashes, and City of Glass, and now, she's writing the prequel trilolgy of the Shadowhunters...The Infernal Devices - beginning with The Clockwork Angel (The Infernal Devices, Book 1), due in stores August 31st, 2010. After which, she'll return to the Mortal Instruments series with: City of Fallen Angels (and TWO more following that coming in the next couple years!).

I can hardly wait!

I really did love the series and am so looking forward to reading The Clockwork Angel.

Even though it predates the Mortal Instruments, I think it will explain a lot of how and why the characters have "become" who they are and act the way they do. Plus, I can hardly wait to read more about angels, nephilim, and Shadowhunters in general...the tatoo runes are so cool!

10 Foods to Avoid that Could Blow Up Your Diet

The contents of your own cupboards and refrigerator could hold land mines — foods that can blow up your healthy eating plan...

Here are 10 foods to avoid — and suggestions for healthier substitutions:

Sugary drinks. This means soda pop, sweetened tea and fruit-flavored punch drinks. Each 12-ounce can of pop has about 7 teaspoons of sugar and about 140 calories. Drink water instead.
Processed lunch meats. And this includes sausages, hot dogs and bacon. They're high in fat and sodium — even those that say "lower" or "reduced." Instead cook a little extra meat, chicken or fish to use in sandwiches.
White bread. Choose whole grain for more fiber. Don't be fooled by the color of the bread — it has nothing to do with it being whole grain. Look for the term "whole" on the label.
Whole milk. Skip dairy products with "whole" on the packages. Look for "low-fat" instead.
Canned or instant soup. They're pricey and loaded with salt — even the lower sodium versions. Make your own.
Junk food snacks. Chips, crackers and "doodles." If they're in your kitchen they'll end up in your mouth. They may be labeled "low-fat" or "trans fat-free," but they still have plenty of salt and calories. Think fruit and veggies for snacks.
Stick spreads. Butter and margarine in stick form are saturated fats — and stick margarine can have trans fat. Try trans-fat free tub spreads. Or better yet break the spread habit.
White rice. Go for brown or wild rice. Replacing white rice with brown rice or other whole grains, such as whole wheat and barley, can lower your risk of type 2 diabetes.
Yogurt — unless it's plain. Avoid ones that are loaded with fat and sugar. Choose plain, low-fat yogurt and add your own fruit.
Processed cheese. "Cheese food," "cheese spread" and "cheese product" usually mean lots of fat and salt — and in some instances no cheese! Go for the real thing, but remember that moderation is key.

Looking for someone to blame about the devastating oil spill in the Gulf? Sure, you can blame BP (it is the company's fault after all) and you can blame President Obama too (even Jon Stewart has been doing more than his fair share of that). But while you're at it, you should take a good, long look in your rear-view mirror.

The United States is the largest consumer of oil on the planet. Americans burn 378 million gallons of gasoline a day, according to the U.S. Energy Information Agency. Our collective oil addiction makes us as much to blame for this mess as anyone. (And even if you disagree with that, you surely agree that something needs to be done -- and soon.)

So instead of pointing fingers, take some responsibility and put your energy (pun intended) into something else.

Here, some ideas.

1. Admit you have a problem. That's the first step in any addict's recovery. Repeat after me: My name is ____ (fill in the blank), and I am an oil addict. Then get on the road to recovery (preferably in a hybrid).

Stop driving. Carpool, ride a bike, use public transportation, and walk when you can. No excuses. Just do it.
Use alternate sources of energy. Think wind and solar power, and try alternate home-heating solutions (a wood-burning furnace can save you oil -- and money). Or talk to your local utility company. Many power providers offer green energy sources as an option on your bill. Visit the Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) Green Power Locator to see what options are available to you.
Lighten your carbon footprint. Use the EPA's Household Emissions Calculator to estimate your family's greenhouse gas emissions and find out how to cut back.

2. Hold someone's hand at the beach. Hands Across the Sand is holding a national day of action on Saturday, June 26, to clean up America's energy and call on President Obama to get the U.S. off oil in 20 years. People in more than 500 communities across the globe will join hands at 11 a.m. to create a line in the sand against offshore drilling. To find or organize an event in your community, visit Hands Across the Sand.

3. Tune in to Larry King. Tonight (June 21), CNN will be airing a two-hour telethon: "Disaster in the Gulf: How You Can Help." The telethon will feature celebrities like Chelsea Handler, Tim McGraw, Lenny Kravitz, Pete Wentz, Jenny McCarthy, and many more. You can choose between three charities that you'd like to help -- the money raised will go to aid in rebuilding the Gulf Coast.

4. Report oiled wildlife and oil damage. If you live (or you're vacationing or volunteering) along the Gulf Coast and you see wildlife in need of rescue or you notice oil damage to the environment, report it. You can do so online at Deepwater Horizon Response or by phone 866-557-1401 (for oiled wildlife), 800-440-0858 (for oil damage), or 866-448-5816 (for affected shorelines).

5. Don't boycott BP gas stations -- on second thought ... No one is happy with BP (Tony Hayward is probably wishing he never accepted a job there -- though that didn't stop him from attending a yacht race this weekend), but refusing to buy gas at its service stations might actually be putting more money into the company's pockets.

According to The Consumerist, your corner BP station is but a licensed franchise owned by a local businessman, and the fuel that comes out of the pumps may be from a totally different company, so you might only be hurting the independent dealer.
If you opt for a supermarket gas station (such as Castrol, Arco, Aral, am/pm, Amoco, Wild Bean Cafe, and Safeway), it could be a wholly owned BP subsidiary in which case BP gets all the cash. (You can join the Facebook group Boycott BP for more info.)
If you do decide to boycott BP, some say it will simply be a political statement (and there's nothing wrong with that), but others, like Ryan Chittum at The Audit, believe that boycotting BP will make a dent on its returns.

6. Don't cut your hair (or your pet's). While everyone who's been snipping their hair and grooming their pets for the cause has their heart in the right place, BP and the U.S. Coast Guard say they're not using hair to contain the oil spill -- and they don't plan to (they're using sorbent boom, which they have aplenty). Organizations who have been collecting hair, such as Matter of Trust, have been asked to stop doing so.

7. Plant a flag. Go to Let's Move Beyond Oil to plant a virtual flag and on July 4. The organization will plant real flags in front of Washington Monument that spell out "Freedom From Oil" so that Congress and the White House are sure to see what the American people want.

8. Volunteer. Many organizations in the Gulf of Mexico are looking for helping hands. Here are but a few.

The Audubon Society has launched the National Oil Spill Volunteer Response Center, which has lots of information on ways to get involved.
eBird, an online birding resource that tracks the health of bird populations, needs volunteers to help survey Gulf Coast bird populations.
In Louisiana, LA Gulf Response is coordinating volunteers to assist in local, state, and federal recovery efforts.
In Alabama, the Alabama Coastal Foundation wants volunteers for cleanup efforts along the Alabama coast if the oil spill reaches that state's shores.
In Florida, Save Our Seabirds is a bird rescue group looking for support to help oiled wildlife.

9. Adopt a bird. At the International Bird Rescue Research Center, you can "adopt" a duck for $25 or an egret for $50; the birds will be cleaned and rehabilitated.

10. Text don't talk. Put your money where your mouth is. Every time you play the blame game and say (or write in a comment somewhere -- wink, wink) "BP" or "Obama" or "Tony Hayward," put a dollar in a jar. (Or set aside all that money you've been saving on gas because you've been walking, carpooling, or using public transportation.) At the end of the month give it to some people who are actually making things happen:

Text the word "NWF" to 20222 to donate $10 to the National Wildlife Federation through your phone bill.
Donate to the United Way's Gulf Recovery Fund by going to its website or text the word "United" to 50555 to donate $10 from your mobile phone.
The Nature Conservancy Fund for Gulf Coast Restoration wants to re-establish critical habitats (marshes, seagrass beds, oyster reefs, and coastal wetlands). Text the word "coast" to 50555 to donate $10 through your mobile phone.

I REALLY dislike being threatened by an email which TELLS me I HAVE to sent it on..Now I know what is happening! WOW!!! If I send it at all I send it BCC..which i hope does not give email addresses...as you should also. No one likes to receive a forward with a page-long list of everyone in the world who has sent it, received it, forwarded it! Let's see if this stops the 'threatening' ones which make us feel guilty for NOT sending it on....

The man that sent this information is a computer tech. He spends a lot of time clearing the junk off computers for people and listens to complaints about speed. All forwards are not bad, just some. Be sure you read the very last paragraph.

Advice from snopes.com VERY IMPORTANT!!

1) Any time you see an email that says "forward this on to '10' (or however many) of your friends", "sign this petition", or "you'll get bad luck" or "you'll get good luck" or "you'll see something funny on your screen after you send it" or whatever --- it almost always has an email tracker program attached

that tracks the cookies and emails of those folks you forward to. The host sender is getting a copy each time it gets forwarded and then is able to get lists of 'active' email addresses to use in SPAM emails or sell to other spammers. Even when you get emails that demand you send the email on if you're not ashamed of God/Jesus --- that is email tracking, and they are playing on our conscience. These people don't care how they get your email addresses - just as long as they get them. Also, emails that talk about a

missing child or a child with an incurable disease "how would you feel if that was your child" --- email tracking. Ignore them and don't participate!

2) Almost all emails that ask you to add your name and forward on to others are similar to

that mass letter years ago that asked people to send business cards to the little kid in Florida who wanted to break the Guinness Book of Records for the most cards. All it was, and all any of this type of email is, is a way to get names and 'cookie' tracking information for telemarketers and spammers-- to validate active email accounts for their own profitable purposes. You can do your Friends and Family members a GREAT favor by sending this information to them. You will be providing a service to your friends. And you will be rewarded by not getting thousands of spam emails in the future! Do yourself a favor and STOP adding your

name(s) to those types of listing regardless how inviting they might sound! Or make you feel guilty if you don't! It's all about getting email addresses and nothing more. You may think you are supporting a GREAT

cause, but you are NOT! Instead, you will be getting tons of junk mail later and very possibly a virus attached! Plus, we are helping the spammers get rich! Let's not make it easy for them!

ALSO: Email petitions are NOT acceptable to Congress or any other organization - i.e. social security, etc. To be acceptable, petitions must have a "signed signature" and full address of the person signing the petition, so this is a waste of time and you are just helping the email trackers.

Tips for Handling Telemarketers Three Little Words That Work!!

(1)The three little words are: 'Hold On, Please...'

Saying this, while putting down your phone and walking off (instead of hanging-up immediately) would make each telemarketing call so much more time-consuming that boiler room sales would grind to a halt. Then when you eventually hear the phone company's 'beep-beep-beep' tone, you know it's time to go back and hang up your handset, which has efficiently completed its task. These three little words will help eliminate telephone soliciting..

(2) Do you ever get those annoying phone calls with no one on the

other end? This is a telemarketing technique where a machine makes phone calls and records the time of day when a person answers the phone. This technique is used to determine the best time of day for a 'real' sales person to call back and get someone at home. What you can do after answering, if you notice there is no one there, is to immediately start hitting your # button on the phone, 6 or 7 times as

quickly as possible. This confuses the machine that dialed the call, and it kicks your number out of their system. Gosh, what a shame not to have your name in their system any longer!!!

(3) Junk Mail Help: When you get 'ads' enclosed with your phone or utility bill, return these 'ads' with your payment. Let the sending companies throw their own junk mail away. When you get those 'preapproved' letters in the mail for everything from credit cards to 2nd mortgages and similar type junk, do not throw away the return envelope. Most of these come with postage-paid return envelopes, right? It costs them more than the regular 44 cents postage, 'IF' and when they receive them back. It costs them nothing if you throw them away! The postage was around 50 cents before the last\ increase and it is according to the weight. In that case, why not get rid of some of your other junk mail and put it in these cool little, postage-paid return envelopes.

Send an ad for your local chimney cleaner to American Express. Send a pizza coupon to Citibank. If you didn't get anything else that day, then just send them their blank application back!If you want to remain

The banks and credit card companies are currently getting a lot of their own junk back in the mail, but folks, we need to OVERWHELM them. Let's help keep our postal service busy since they are saying that e-mail is cutting into their business profits, and that's why they need to increase postage costs again. You get the idea! I for one, am a huge fan of Cassandra Clare. She's got a way of grabbing you by the innards and twisting until you scream for mercy. Her style of writing is just my type, and I adored her Mortal Instruments Trilogy. At it's end, I wanted more...no, needed more, and thank our lucky stars, she's answered our prayers with a new trilogy; Infernal Devices, with book one being Clockwork Angel coming out this August (2010). WOO HOO!Here's part of a review of said title from the Trades.com:

Ok, so all day I've been playing around with customizing my new blog;

...and having problems all day with the size of the background photo. It just wasn't fitting on the page ...it was waaay too small and I couldn't keep the original size no matter how I uploaded it. ...

Everytime I'd upload the pic from my computer (I made the background picture with photoshop at 1,600px × 1,097px). and each time I uploaded the pic to photobucket to get a link to add to the template

the photo didn't retain its proper size and ended up smaller on the blog...well,

I finally figured it out.

First I went to another blog I made (this one! chroniclestruthandmusings) and posted the picture here. as you can see below:

after posting then I right clicked on the pic and opened it in new tab to get the web address and used the little zoom spyglass that comes up to make it original size,,,

Are we not what we believe?

Truly.

Are we really what we believe we are?

Of course.

Then tell my why, if we all believe what we are, then why are we in the position we're in?

Because we chose it.

I believe we ARE what we make ourselves to be, we are 'little creators', if you will, from GOD - of GOD, and how we ARE decides what kind of life we will choose (whether guided or not)...because of GOD's love for us, as GOD is love in it's truest form, he gives us the choice to believe, or not.

Don't we ultimately decide who we are even if that means making no choice at all? That's a choice, making NO choice, isn't it? Talking big and doing nothing about it...that seems to be the biggest choice being made around the globe. We want this, but don't want to do that, we want and want, but expect everything for nothing. When are we going to wake up and smell the reality of what we've become?

So...with that in mind,

Government is still messed up, finding a real job isn't going well for most, forget about the housing market, as I doubt it will ever get its legs back, its permanently hobbled.Money, greed, power...well, they are just waaaaaay out of style. The newest fad is change...yeah, ALL your change; the pennies too!

They want to MAKE me buy health insurance? And fine me if I don't? WEll, that's some choice.

I'm working to pay my taxes, like most Americans, and I take pretty good care of myself by taking responsibility for my own health. I think preventative medicine is the key to getting this country back in shape.
Instead of making us buy health insurance, why not have us invest in teaching our children how to be healthy by example?
Health-care should be a personal choice that starts at home.
Holistic medicine should be a bigger part of our system- deal with the 'whole' person; emotional, mental and physical.
If we got to the root of our issues, many could be eradicated or healed.

Why can't we see that this is the only way?
And GOD forbid, if you get sick, I'll help you, if I'm able, get better by whatever means necessary.
But don't expect me to pay for someone who hasn't given anything to society, even if they don't have money. They can give of their time to help others who can't.
Don't even get me started on immigrants sending money back "home" instead of paying taxes...that's a whole 'nother ball of wax.

This is America, and I am an American who loves GOD and the freedom to make any choice I choose.

Thank you to all those who made that possible. Americans all have one thing in common, they all care what happens to people around the world, as a global unit, we are human and care about what happens to our fellow humans.

hope someday, that I can help in my own way to make a difference in making this world be a better place.At least we could start doing something instead of whining about it. Forgive, but don't forget, and vote when the time comes. I know I am.

As for Obama's new healthcare bill;

As Republicans stressed their core arguments: the bill is too expensive and broadens government powers too much and argued that Democrats have crammed the bill through, side-stepping GOP policy suggestions.

Democrats accused the Republicans of refusing to negotiate on the bills, and handed Obama a major political defeat. Democrats also say they have incorporated some Republican suggestions into the final legislation.

Under the legislation, most Americans for the first time would be required to purchase insurance, and they would face penalties if they refused. The bill includes billions of dollars in subsidies and tax breaks to make insurance more affordable, and it also provides for an expansion of Medicaid, the government healthcare program for the poor.

The healthcare legislation would extend coverage to about 32-million uninsured Americans and would impose new rules on insurance companies to prevent them from denying benefits because of preexisting conditions. It would establish insurance exchanges to increase competition among insurance companies.

The healthcare plan would cost $940 billion over 10 years, according to the Congressional Budget Office. It calls for new taxes and fees as well as cuts in Medicare, the insurance program for the elderly.

Democrats argue the cuts would eliminate waste, fraud and abuse, while Republicans charge that the cuts would decrease services for the aged.

What is the correct way of eating fruits?

IT MEANS NOT EATING FRUITS AFTER YOUR MEALS! * FRUITS SHOULD BE EATEN ON AN EMPTY STOMACH.

If you eat fruit like that, it will play a major role to detoxify your system, supplying you with a great deal of energy for weight loss and other life activities.

FRUIT IS THE MOST IMPORTANT FOOD. Let's say you eat two slices of bread and then a slice of fruit. The slice of fruit is ready to go straight through the stomach into the intestines, but it is prevented from doing so.

In the meantime the whole meal rots and ferments and turns to acid. The minute the fruit comes into contact with the food in the stomach and digestive juices, the entire mass of food begins to spoil....

So please eat your fruits on an empty stomach or before your meals! You have heard people complaining — every time I eat watermelon I burp, when I eat durian my stomach bloats up, when I eat a banana I feel like running to the toilet, etc — actually all this will not arise if you eat the fruit on an empty stomach. The fruit mixes with the putrefying other food and produces gas and hence you will bloat!

Graying hair, balding, nervous outburst, and dark circles under the eyes all these will NOT happen if you take fruits on an empty stomach.

There is no such thing as some fruits, like orange and lemon are acidic, because all fruits become alkaline in our body, according to Dr. Herbert Shelton who did research on this matter. If you have mastered the correct way of eating fruits, you have the Secret of beauty, longevity, health, energy, happiness and normal weight.

When you need to drink fruit juice - drink only fresh fruit juice, NOT from the cans. Don't even drink juice that has been heated up. Don't eat cooked fruits because you don't get the nutrients at all. You only get to taste. Cooking destroys all the vitamins.

But eating a whole fruit is better than drinking the juice. If you should drink the juice, drink it mouthful by mouthful slowly, because you must let it mix with your saliva before swallowing it. You can go on a 3-day fruit fast to cleanse your body. Just eat fruits and drink fruit juice throughout the 3 days and you will be surprised when your friends tell you how radiant you look!

KIWI: Tiny but mighty. This is a good source of potassium, magnesium, vitamin E & fiber. Its vitamin C content is twice that of an orange.

APPLE: An apple a day keeps the doctor away? Although an apple has a low vitamin C content, it has antioxidants & flavonoids which enhances the activity of vitamin C thereby helping to lower the risks of colon cancer, heart attack & stroke.

STRAWBERRY: Protective Fruit. Strawberries have the highest total antioxidant power among major fruits & protect the body from cancer-causing, blood vessel-clogging free radicals.

ORANGE : Sweetest medicine. Taking 2-4 oranges a day may help keep colds away, lower cholesterol, prevent & dissolve kidney stones as well as lessens the risk of colon cancer.

WATERMELON: Coolest thirst quencher. Composed of 92% water, it is also packed with a giant dose of glutathione, which helps boost our immune system. They are also a key source of lycopene — the cancer fighting oxidant. Other nutrients found in watermelon are vitamin C & Potassium.

GUAVA & PAPAYA: Top awards for vitamin C. They are the clear winners for their high vitamin C content.. Guava is also rich in fiber, which helps prevent constipation. Papaya is rich in carotene; this is good for your eyes.

Drinking Cold water after a meal = Cancer! Can u believe this?? For those who like to drink cold water, this article is applicable to you. It is nice to have a cup of cold drink after a meal. However, the cold water will solidify the oily stuff that you have just consumed. It will slow down the digestion. Once this 'sludge' reacts with the acid, it will break down and be absorbed by the intestine faster than the solid food. It will line the intestine. Very soon, this will turn into fats and lead to cancer. It is best to drink hot soup or warm water after a meal.

This is the best advice I've ever seen on eating fruit. Even if it isn't all factual or you don't believe in it, fruits and veges can help us be healthier, THAT'S a proven fact.

Now why wouldn't Adobe send all their users out an email of this importance? Are we just supposed to be on our own out here? This CRITICAL update should have been mass-emailed out to all of their users. Major vunerabilities have been found in their products and lots of problems along with it......

Ok, here's the scoop, and it's an important one.

I've even tweeted about it.

PLEASE update all versions of Adobe Reader and Flash Player.

make sure you have the latest versions and updates as many people are having MAJOR problems with getting viruses and malware issues.

(I just got over an ordeal with getting a really bad virus.,. and I never get them as I'm extra careful and always follow all the rules when it comes to safety).

Anyway, the point being that there are some big problems with viruses getting through and taking over your computer....

believe me, it's no fun dealing with that.
